Apple and Avocado Puree
Ingredients
- ½ apple
- 1 ripe avocado
- Water
Instructions
- Wash the apple under clean water.
- Peel off the skin, remove the seeds, and dice the apple into small cubes.
- Steam or boil the apple pieces for 10 minutes until soft.
- Scoop out a ripe avocado
- Place the steamed apple in a blender together with the soft ripe avocado.
- Add water to get the mixture to your desired consistency. Blend until smooth and creamy.
You can use breast milk or formula milk instead of water for a smooth consistency.

When Can a Baby Eat Apple and Avocado Puree?

You start weaning you can offer it as soon as. Before combining them some prefer to serve ingredients on their own first. Just on the off-chance, that baby has a bad reaction to one of them.
Can You Freeze Avocado Puree for Baby?
You can make the extra puree and freeze it by spooning some puree into ice cube trays and putting them in the freezer. Although it’s OK to freeze the avocado puree for the baby, keep in mind that the avocado may lose a bit of its taste.
It’s not suitable for freezing if you’ve used breast milk or formula milk to blend your puree. Only freeze it if you’ve used water to blend it with.
Precautions To Take While Feeding Apple Avocado Puree To Babies:
- While preparing, ensure that puree has no lumps. Small lumps or chunks of apple pulp could be a potential choking hazard for babies.
- Buy organic apples as they are considered safer.
- Use sterilised utensils to prepare and store the puree. This will ensure safety from any possible bacterial contamination.
- As you introduce apple avocado puree, first introduce apple puree and avocado puree separately, feed just a teaspoon or two in the beginning.
