It is always good to serve food that is light to digest like apple rice porridge.This is one easy and tasty porridge for babies, the method of preparation is similar to the usual rice porridge.This baby food is made up of rice and apple which can both be given to babies safely when your baby is above 6 months.It doesn’t require any additional sweetener, the natural sweetness of apple gives a nice taste to the porridge.

Ingredients:
- Rice – 2 tbsp
- Water – 1.25 cups
- Apple – 1 small
- Ghee – 1/4 tsp
Instructions:
- Wash the rice and soak it for at least 30 minutes.
- Pressure cook rice with water on a medium flame with 2 whistles.
- Let the rice cool down.
- Once pressure goes off, open the lid and mash it.
- Wash apples in running water well. Peel the skin off from the apple. Remove the seeds in the center part after cutting the Apple vertically into two pieces.
- Then chop them into equal size small cubes.

Grind the cut apples into a smooth paste without adding any water. Set aside.

Now add ground apple puree to the mashed rice. Give a quick stir.

Cook it further for 3-5 minutes, add ghee and mix well.

Switch off the flame once done.
Let the porridge cool down and feed your baby.

Sterilize the bowls and spoons in a vessel with hot water for five minutes and keep it immersed in the same vessel before feeding your baby.

Never introduce more than one food at a time when introducing solids to your baby.

Salt and sugar is not recommended in baby’s food until one year of age.

Check for allergy symptoms when you introduce a new food to your baby and stop feeding if you find any symptoms.

This rice porridge is generally prepared with parboiled rice.

This rice porridge will become thick after cooling down, so switch off the flame accordingly. Adjust with warm water or milk while feeding if it becomes too thick.
